The APTET syllabus can look overwhelming when you see it all at once. In this lesson
you will walk through each section, see the main units, and learn how to turn a
long list of topics into a manageable plan. Keep the official syllabus beside you
and tick off each unit as you study it.

## Sections A and B

### A. Child Development and Pedagogy, ICT Integration

This is the section most closely linked to being a good primary teacher. Its main
units are:

study, action research), growth and development, social, emotional, language
and moral development, play and the sense of self
 * **Cognition and personality**: Piaget, Vygotsky, Bruner, theories of intelligence,
concept formation, personality and mental health

classroom management, assessment and CCE, and education policies and Acts

such as DIKSHA and MOOCs, and cyber safety

### B. Language I: Telugu

meanings, synonyms, idioms, proverbs) and భాషాంశాలు, including sandhi, samasa, chandassu,
alankaralu and sentence types. Methodology covers language skills, teaching methods,
planning, TLM and assessment.

## Sections C and D

## Section E and how to prioritise

### E. Environmental Studies

 * **Science**: living world, life processes, materials, light, electricity, magnetism,
heat, force, sound, natural phenomena, transport, professions and our environment
 * **Social Studies**: our universe and maps, resources and livelihoods, history
from early humans to the freedom struggle, government and the Constitution, social
equality, religion, culture and Andhra Pradesh

### Turning the syllabus into a checklist

 1. Copy each unit into a notebook or spreadsheet.
 2. Rate yourself: **strong**, **average** or **weak**.
 3. Start with high-coverage, weak units, but study every section every week.
 4. Tick a unit only after you have studied it **and** answered practice questions
    on it.

### Exam focus

 * Know which unit each topic belongs to; this helps you organise notes and revision.
 * CDP and the methodology parts of every subject share many ideas, so studying
   them together saves time.
 * Language sections test both content and how to teach the language.
 * EVS mixes Science and Social Studies, so revise both every week.

### Example

Lakshmi, a B.Ed graduate from Guntur, rated herself strong in English and Social
Studies, average in Mathematics and weak in Child Development and Pedagogy and Telugu
grammar. She gave daily slots to CDP and Telugu grammar, three slots a week to Maths
and two each to her strong subjects, so that nothing was neglected.

## Key takeaways

 * Section A covers child development, learning, pedagogy, policies and ICT.
 * Sections B and C test language content plus teaching methodology.
 * Mathematics spans numbers to mensuration, plus 6 methodology marks.
 * EVS combines Science and Social Studies, each with 3 methodology marks.
 * Turn the syllabus into a self-rated checklist and study every section weekly.
