(ఌ, ౡ అనే రెండు అక్షరాలు ఆధునిక తెలుగులో వాడుకలో లేవు). **అచ్చుల జాబితా:** > అ, ఆ, ఇ, ఈ, ఉ, ఊ, ఋ, ౠ, ఎ, ఏ, ఐ, ఒ, ఓ, ఔ. అచ్చులను ఉచ్చరించడానికి పట్టే కాలాన్ని (మాత్ర) బట్టి మూడు రకాలుగా విభజించారు: * **హ్రస్వాలు:** ఒక మాత్రా కాలంలో (కనురెప్పపాటు కాలంలో) పలికే అక్షరాలు. - _ఉదాహరణ:_ అ, ఇ, ఉ, ఋ, ఎ, ఒ * **దీర్ఘాలు:** రెండు మాత్రల కాలంలో (కొంచెం పొడిగించి) పలికే అక్షరాలు. - _ఉదాహరణ:_ ఆ, ఈ, ఊ, ౠ, ఏ, ఓ * **ప్లుతాలు:** రెండు మాత్రల కంటే ఎక్కువ కాలం ఉచ్చరించే అక్షరాలు. ఇవి దీర్ఘాల కంటే ఎక్కువ సమయం తీసుకుంటాయి. - _ఉదాహరణ:_ ఐ, ఔ ## 2. హల్లులు (వ్యంజనాలు) అచ్చుల సహాయంతో మాత్రమే పలకగలిగే అక్షరాలను **‘హల్లులు’** లేదా **‘వ్యంజనాలు’** అంటారు. హల్లులు స్వతంత్రంగా పలకబడవు; ప్రతి హల్లులోనూ ఒక అచ్చు (సాధారణంగా ‘అ’) అంతర్లీనంగా దాగి ఉంటుంది (ఉదాహరణకు: క్ + అ = క). తెలుగులో మొత్తం హల్లులు 37 (వాడుకలో లేని ౘ, ౙ లతో కలిపి). **హల్లుల వర్గీకరణ పట్టిక:** హల్లులను సులభంగా గుర్తుంచుకోవడానికి 5 వర్గాలుగా విభజించారు: | **వర్గం** | **అక్షరాలు** | | **క – వర్గం** | క, ఖ, గ, ఘ, ఙ | | **చ – వర్గం** | చ, ఛ, జ, ఝ, ఞ (ౘ, ౙ – ప్రస్తుతం వాడుకలో లేవు) | | **ట – వర్గం** | ట, ఠ, డ, ఢ, ణ | | **త – వర్గం** | త, థ, ద, ధ, న | | **ప – వర్గం** | ప, ఫ, బ, భ, మ | | **ఇతరాలు** | య, ర, ఱ, ల, ళ, వ, శ, ష, స, హ, క్ష | **ఉచ్చారణను బట్టి హల్లుల రకాలు:** * **పరుషాలు:** కొంచెం కఠినంగా, బలంగా ఉచ్చరించబడేవి. (క, చ, ట, త, ప) * **సరళాలు:** సులభంగా, తేలికగా ఉచ్చరించబడేవి. (గ, జ, డ, ద, బ) * **అనునాసికాలు:** ముక్కు (నాసికం) సహాయంతో పలికే అక్షరాలు. (ఙ, ఞ, ణ, న, మ) * **అంతస్థాలు:** అచ్చులకు, హల్లులకు మధ్యస్తంగా ఉచ్చరించేవి. (య, ర, ఱ, ల, ళ, వ) * **ఊష్మాలు:** గాలిని బయటకు ఊదుతూ పలికే అక్షరాలు.
