The Magic Vault turns abstract numbers into tangible money math—making place value fun, visual, and memorable. Here is a simple guide to help you introduce The Magic Vault to your students. It is designed to take them from simple counting to the "magic" of regrouping.
🏫 Teacher’s Mini-Guide: The Magic Vault
Level 1: Building Numbers (The Vault Basics)
- The Task: Ask students to show a number like 125.
- The Learning: They should place 1 Hundred, 2 Tens, and 5 Ones.
- The Challenge: Ask them to show 125 using only Tens and Ones. This forces them to use the Magic Breakbutton on a hundred.
Level 2: The “Borrowing” Mystery (Subtraction)
- The Setup: Set the starting amount to ₹100.
- The Task: Use the Custom Transaction box to subtract ₹5.
- The Friction: The tool will block them! It will say, “Not enough notes… Break a bigger note first!”
- The Breakthrough: Students must break the 100 into 10 tens, then break one 10 into 10 ones. Now they can successfully subtract the ₹5.
Level 3: The “Carrying” Quest (Addition)
- The Task: Put 9 Ones in the vault. Add 1 more.
- The Learning: The vault now shows 10 in the “Ones” column.
- The Level Up: Encourage them to click Magic Bundle. They will see the 10 coins “ZAP” into a single ₹10 note in the tens column.
Level 4: The Master Challenge (Goals)
- The Task: Click New Quest.
- The Perfectionist Goal: Students must reach the target. If they reach it by just clicking “+1” fifty times, the tool will remind them to Bundle. The goal is only “perfect” when they have the fewest notes possible.
